A Letter from Gary Goodemote, President, SEON Board of Directors
March 7, 2017

Dear SEON Supporter (and Potential Supporter),

SEON (Sustainable Energy Outreach Network) was formed almost four years ago as an organization that would help to educate, promote and sustain Green Energy practitioners in the Windham Region. The founders were excited about the opportunity to do something to help slow the transmission of greenhouse gasses into the atmosphere, using the Energy Cluster of South Austria as our model.

Since that time, we have:
• Established two working groups in the Green Building and Facility Managers fields.
• Presented professional classes and roundtables on green building topics like ventilation and water vapor, bio-fuel heating options, mini-split heat pumps, and choosing central heating options.
• Sponsored or co-sponsored workshops for the general public in weather-tightening, choosing a wood or pellet heating system, understanding mini-splits, getting up-to-date on how the Europeans are tackling global warming and others, and initiated our Annual Sustainable Home Tour in the fall.
• Served as the lead agency in the Windham Wood Heat Program to help schools and municipal officials explore adopting pellet central heating systems.

We have done this work on a shoestring budget, with volunteer and slightly paid people, who are doing it to express their passion for leaving a better planet and society for the generations that will follow us.

To continue this work, we need to establish sustainable (there’s that word again) funding sources. That’s why we’re turning to you, our past and future supporters. With your help, we can establish more working groups (perhaps in bio-fuels, environmentally friendly transportation, solar heating and photovoltaics), deliver more professional training, and expand our capacity to connect resources to the public and our workforce.

Please consider making a generous donation to help create a better quality of life for the current and future residents of our beautiful region. Local, committed action is more important than ever.

Thanks a lot,

Gary Goodemote
President of the SEON Board
